Additional Services Available

  • Transportation:  The activities department schedules various outings throughout the month and provides transportation in our 20 passenger wheelchair accessible bus.   Transportation to health care appointments is the responsibility of the resident, family, or responsible party.
  • Physician: Residents have the freedom to choose their own physician.  The resident must be seen by the physician in accordance with the regulations set by the Department of Inspections and Appeals. Health care appointments will be made for the residents by our nursing department or by the resident’s family members. If the physician is not willing to visit Spurgeon Manor, it is the responsibility of the family to take the resident to the doctor in accordance with the regulations.  Spurgeon Manor maintains a contract with a physician to serve as its Medical Director.  Currently, our Medical Director is Dr. Ron McHose, D.O., who is located in Dallas Center and available for consultation.
  • Podiatry: Dr. Erin Ward from Perry provides foot care on a quarterly basis.
  • Laboratory: Pathology Labs provide services when ordered by your physician.  Fees for these services will be billed to Medicare by the provider.

Rosary and Communion are provided twice monthly for our Catholic residents.
